Empowering Nigeria’s Future: Tech Skills Enlightenment for Abraka Corps Members
In a world that’s fast becoming digital-first, the ability to adapt, learn, and innovate is more important than ever. On February 6th, 2025, team Hamplus Hub had the incredible opportunity to engage with a vibrant group of Abraka NYSC members—young, passionate, and filled with potential—on a mission to open their minds to the power and possibilities of tech.
Our visit wasn’t just a seminar or a regular outreach—it was a spark. A spark that could ignite ideas, businesses, careers, and futures.
A Meeting of Purpose and Possibility
As we stepped into the NYSC meeting point in Abraka (Abraka Grammar School), we were welcomed by curious eyes and eager faces. These young Nigerians, posted from different parts of the country, are at the beginning of their post-university journey. Many are searching for purpose, direction, and a platform to make impact. And that’s exactly what tech offers.
We didn’t come with complicated codes or confusing terms. We came with stories—real stories of transformation, innovation, and empowerment. We shared how tech is more than just programming; it is design, content creation, data analysis, data science, cybersecurity, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship. We showed them that whether they studied engineering or English, there is a place for them in tech.
Lighting the Fire
As we introduced basic concepts and real-world applications of tech skills, something amazing happened—their eyes lit up. Questions poured in. Ideas began to form. Some had never considered tech as a path. Others had tried but didn’t know where to start. We helped them see the starting line, and more importantly, the path ahead.
We encouraged them to see beyond just getting a job after service. We inspired them to build something, solve problems, and even create jobs. We emphasized learning, community membership and participation, and consistent growth.
Why This Matters
Nigeria is full of talent. Our young people are not short of potential—they are short of opportunities and exposure. By introducing corps members to the world of tech, we’re not just teaching skills; we’re building a generation that can compete globally and innovate locally.
This visit is just one step, but we know it’s a meaningful one. From here, some will start learning on YouTube or learning from Hamplus Hub. Others will join online communities or apply for fellowships. A few will go on to build startups, lead innovations, and mentor others.
And that’s the power of one visit.
The Opportunity
Team Hamplus Hub from Hamplus Technologies International presented a life changing opportunity to the corps members, offering them to learn any tech skill for as low as 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Naira only). This fee is less than 20% of their monthly pay by the government. Skills they can register from are: Digital marketing, Graphics, Computer literacy, Data analysis, Data Science, Web design, Web development and Data Analytics. REGISTRATION IS ONGOING FOR 2025 SERVICE YEAR. NO DEADLINE BUT YOU CAN’T REGISTER AT THE LAST MONTH OF YOUR SERVICE YEAR!
Moving Forward
We believe in planting seeds. Some will grow immediately; some will take time. But we’re committed to continuing this mission—visiting more camps, reaching more youths, and spreading this message of tech empowerment. That is why we are techvangelists (tech-evangelists)!
