2025 DELSU SUG Digital Skills Acquisition
The process of learning and developing the skills needed to use digital technologies effectively is referred to as digital skills acquisition. Digital skills can be basic or advanced. Digital skills are becoming increasingly important in today’s world, impacting everything from education and employment to communication and access to information. These skills can be as simple as computer Literacy, graphics design to skills as complex as programming, data analysis, Cyber-Security, web3.
The 31 Assembly of the Students’ Union Government of Delta State University, Abraka and Multi campuses being led by Amb. (Sen.) Onovughegor Augustine taught it wise to groom students to be financially independent, hence, the need for the DELSU SUG Digital Skills Acquisition programme for all 100 level students. Seven skills were chosen by this capacity SUG of DELSU, for students to be taught, trained and mentored. These skills are Forex trading, web3, cryptocurrency, programming, web development, data analysis and graphics design.
Hamplus Technologies International [Hamplus Hub] was contacted by the SUG courtesy of the Students’ Affairs office, to deliver lectures on Web Development and Data Analysis. Mr Joshua from Hamplus Hub and a computer scientist delivered a powerful session on web development and why should the 100 level students embrace this offer from the SUG. His session was audience carrying and engaging, and the questions asked were responded to accurately.
Data Analysis session was handled by Miss Precious from Hamplus Hub. She was the only female that handled a session; kudos to Hamplus Hub for promoting the female. Her session was electrifying and the audience were charged with wrapped attention as she broke down data analysis in a simple form like the English alphabets. Questions were asked and they were answered swiftly and promptly, creating more understanding for the audience.
